Anti-wrinkle Injections
Muscle relaxing injections of Botulinum Toxin are used to relax overactive facial muscles and reduce and help prevent the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to reduce excessive sweating in the armpits, hands or feet.
Wrinkles are caused by the skin losing elasticity as you age and the long-term effects of muscle contractions from smiling, frowning and laughing. They are also worsened by sun damage and smoking. Anti-wrinkle injections are given into the muscles, temporarily putting them to sleep for a period of three to six months. The aim of the treatment being to reduce the appearance or further development of the lines.
These injections are commonly used to minimise the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, soften the crow's feet "laughter lines" by the side of your eyes and minimize the horizontal forehead "worry" lines that can appear over time which can make you look aged, tired and stressed.
